Sunday Worship Order | sermon by Father. Mungamuri Devadasu | Bible Mission

The Sunday program (worship order) can be arranged as per individual preferences. However, every worship session should serve as a reminder of the worship that will take place during the Millennial Kingdom.

Order of Worship

  1. Musical Prelude – As the congregation gathers, a hymn should be played on the lyre (guitar or other musical instrument). This will create an atmosphere of spiritual enthusiasm for the congregation.
  2. Praise Hymn – Next, a praise hymn should be sung, or a hymn invoking the Holy Spirit should be sung.
  3. Invocation – The preacher should declare, "In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, let us begin our worship." The congregation should respond with "Amen."
  4. Silent Reflection – The congregation should spend two to three minutes in silent reflection, meditating on the Triune God.
  5. Confession of Sins – The preacher should lead the congregation in the confession of sins (the congregation should kneel and confess).
  6. Assurance of Forgiveness – Believing that sins have been forgiven, the congregation should remain silent for two to three minutes in reverence.
  7. Praise of Gratitude – Then, the preacher should lead the congregation in a hymn of thanksgiving for forgiveness.

8.      Congregational Resolution – The congregation should collectively make a resolution: "We will not knowingly commit any mistake; we will strive to avoid them." After this, a Resolution Prayer should be offered, asking God for the strength to fulfill this commitment.

9.      Dedication – The congregation should dedicate their body, soul, and everything they possess, especially their will, to align with God’s will. We must surrender ourselves completely to God and submit fully to Him. (After this prayer, there should be two to three minutes of silence to solidify the dedication). A prayer asking for strength to fulfill the dedication should follow. (A praise hymn may be sung here.)

10.   Statement of Faith – This is closely related to dedication. The statement of faith should include: "You are my Father, You are my Provider, You are my Savior, You are my everything."

11.    Bible Reading – The congregation should stand and read the Bible together, meditating on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (A hymn may also be sung at this point.)

12.   Sermon – A sermon should be delivered. At the end of the sermon, praise should be sung or recited to honor the Triune God.

13.   Offering – Gifts and offerings should be presented. (A related hymn may be sung.) A prayer concerning the offerings should be made.

14.   Announcements – Any important announcements should be shared with the congregation.

15.   Intercessory Prayer – Prayers should be offered for various topics and special requests.

16.   Silent Meditation – A few minutes should be spent in silence (self-reflection). The worship service should conclude with the Lord’s Prayer and a final blessing.

 Comprehensive Prayer Topics – The general prayer should include:

  • Unity among all Christian denominations
  • Blessings on Bible societies, tract societies, and efforts for the sick and needy
  • Prayers for sinners and the proclamation of the Gospel to all nations
  • Prayers for peace and the prevention of wars

 Behavior in Church – The following should be avoided:

  • Talking inside the church
  • Arriving late to worship
  • Leaving in the middle of the service
  • Not singing hymns along with the congregation
  • Sleeping or dozing off during the service
  • Allowing children to misbehave
  • Standing absentmindedly without focus
  • (Note: Worship should not exceed an hour and a half.)

 Use of Psalms – In some congregations, preachers read Psalms in turn. This is a good practice and should be encouraged.

 Awareness of Divine Presence – Every worship service should be conducted with the awareness that the Triune God, angels, and saints are present.

  • Worship should bring great happiness to believers.

 Post-Sermon Participation – Some people leave immediately after the sermon, assuming it to be the main part of worship. However, worship itself is more important than the sermon.

 The Bride’s Worship (Church Worship) – The worship of the Bride of Christ (the Church) should be highly esteemed and as precious as a diamond.

 Complete Surrender to the Lord – During worship, believers must offer themselves fully to the Lord. In return, the Lord grants what is needed.

 The Importance of Praise

  • Worship should emphasize praise.
  • Our hymns, prayers, praises, and offerings should be felt in our hearts as accepted by the Lord.

Story of Hagar , Genesis 16:1-12; John 8:31-38, 57-59; Galatians 4:28-31 | sermon by Father.Mungamuri Devadasu

Hagar was Sarah’s maidservant. According to Sarah’s wishes, she bore a son for Abraham. However, this led to Sarah’s anger and resentment. Eventually, following Sarah’s command, Abraham sent Hagar and her son away with a skin of water and a small amount of food. She wandered aimlessly in the wilderness of Beersheba, lost and uncertain. Overcome with grief and despair, Hagar’s eyes were clouded with sorrow. Yet, having lived in Abraham’s household, she had developed an inner perception and the ability to listen. Likewise, her physical senses remained strong. The angel of the Lord appeared to her and said, "God has heard the cry of the child; do not be afraid." Hagar’s Condition: She was cast out from Abraham’s household. She was wandering alone. She had no water in the wilderness. Amid these hardships, she was on the verge of death. Hagar’s story teaches us that "God’s help comes to us in our greatest distress." She was in deep despair, lost and withou...

Those who have needs, and the One who fulfills them – the Lord.

Sermon : "Those who have needs, and the One who fulfills them – the Lord." Ezekiel 17:24; John 14:14; Romans 4:21 Beloved ones who have many needs—may you be filled with satisfaction and peace! The theme of today’s sermon is: "Those who have needs, and the One who fulfills them – the Lord." To illustrate this, I present two sides before you: the right side with one stack, and the left side with another. Before we begin the sermon, let me say this—there are 66 books in the Bible, but I will highlight only four of them: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Although written by four different people, all four books focus on one story—the life of Jesus Christ . It is not four different accounts, but one united message. Now, the truth I want to emphasize is this: every person in the world has some needs —things they have not yet received, experienced, or possessed. Among these needs: 1. The First Need: "I want to see God." This desire was not present in...
