Prayer Sequence

The Lord Jesus Christ taught: "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. Then your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you openly." — Matthew 6:6

1. When you enter your prayer room, focus your heart entirely on God. Do not allow any evil thoughts into your mind. Not even good thoughts should distract you, as any thought, however good, may hinder the depth of your prayer.

2. Once your mind is quieted, confess your sins before God. (If you have hurt someone’s heart, you must first have made things right with them before you come to God.)

3. Say to God, “From this moment on, I will no longer repeat any known sin.” Declare this decision sincerely before Him.

4. Then surrender yourself completely to God:
I give my body, my physical life, my soul, my eternal life, and all that I possess into Your hands. Lead me according to Your will.

5. Next, ask God for:

  • The strength to forsake sin,
  • The wisdom to understand your spiritual matters,
  • The ability to teach others, and
  • A life of utmost holiness and pure conduct.

6. On each day, bring before God the topics and matters that are upon your heart, and ask Him earnestly concerning them.

7. After completing your prayers, remain silent in God's presence for as long as you desire. In that silence, God will place good thoughts in your mind and fill you with inner peace.

8. After completing each of the above steps, there are two important things you must do:

  • First, believe completely: "God has heard my prayer." That is your act of faith.
  • Second, give thanks to God for hearing your prayer. This is the act of gratitude.

This completes your prayer time. Afterwards, continue daily in watchfulness, expecting the fulfillment of what you have prayed for.

If I pray according to this order, will God hear me?

This sequence is one that has been found helpful, but you are free to form your own pattern of prayer. You can pray to God at any time, in any place, and in any condition. Even if you belong to another religion or are in a difficult situation, God hears your prayer when it is offered in the name of Jesus Christ, who came into this world for all people. This is the foundational truth of Christian faith. Jesus Himself promised, “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (John 14:14). He also said, “Where two or three gather in My name, there I am in their midst” (Matthew 18:20). When you remember and pray in the name of Jesus, He will become spiritually visible to your heart. Jesus, who was crucified willingly for the salvation of the world, rose again and ascended into heaven, saying, “Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). He also taught, “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). Therefore, do not be discouraged if your prayer is not answered immediately. Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). He also said, “If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” The Bible assures us in Ephesians 3:20–21 that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or imagine. If we ask for something harmful, God will not give it—but He will always give what is best. Receive the blessing of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of all who believe in Him. May peace and well-being be upon you and your nation.

Story of Hagar , Genesis 16:1-12; John 8:31-38, 57-59; Galatians 4:28-31 | sermon by Father.Mungamuri Devadasu

Hagar was Sarah’s maidservant. According to Sarah’s wishes, she bore a son for Abraham. However, this led to Sarah’s anger and resentment. Eventually, following Sarah’s command, Abraham sent Hagar and her son away with a skin of water and a small amount of food. She wandered aimlessly in the wilderness of Beersheba, lost and uncertain. Overcome with grief and despair, Hagar’s eyes were clouded with sorrow. Yet, having lived in Abraham’s household, she had developed an inner perception and the ability to listen. Likewise, her physical senses remained strong. The angel of the Lord appeared to her and said, "God has heard the cry of the child; do not be afraid." Hagar’s Condition: She was cast out from Abraham’s household. She was wandering alone. She had no water in the wilderness. Amid these hardships, she was on the verge of death. Hagar’s story teaches us that "God’s help comes to us in our greatest distress." She was in deep despair, lost and withou...

Those who have needs, and the One who fulfills them – the Lord.

Sermon : "Those who have needs, and the One who fulfills them – the Lord." Ezekiel 17:24; John 14:14; Romans 4:21 Beloved ones who have many needs—may you be filled with satisfaction and peace! The theme of today’s sermon is: "Those who have needs, and the One who fulfills them – the Lord." To illustrate this, I present two sides before you: the right side with one stack, and the left side with another. Before we begin the sermon, let me say this—there are 66 books in the Bible, but I will highlight only four of them: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Although written by four different people, all four books focus on one story—the life of Jesus Christ . It is not four different accounts, but one united message. Now, the truth I want to emphasize is this: every person in the world has some needs —things they have not yet received, experienced, or possessed. Among these needs: 1. The First Need: "I want to see God." This desire was not present in...
