1. Even before we were born, God created light, air, water, trees, living creatures, silver, gold, various minerals, the heavens and the earth. So, how great is God's mercy toward us! This is reflected in Exodus 20:1, where God says, “I am the Lord your God.” Though God is seen as dwelling in the highest heavens, far above us, and we live on the earth, separated by vast distance, yet He says, “I am your God,” thus establishing a relationship. God is holy, and we are sinful from birth — what relationship could there be? Yet, through these words, He has established a bond. Therefore, how merciful is our God!
2. In
Isaiah 43:25, God declares, “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions
for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins.” He forgives our sins
not because someone taught Him to, but because it pleases Him to do so. What
great mercy this is! He delights in removing the very sin that causes suffering
and hinders salvation. The Creator not only forgives our sins but promises
never to remember them again. This is astonishing love. When we forgive others,
we often remember their offense when we see them, and our hearts are troubled.
But not so with God.
How merciful is our heavenly Father!
3. Isaiah
59:1 says, “The arm of the Lord is not too short to save.” Even if you fall
deep into sin, down to the depths of the pit, after having received forgiveness,
His hand can still reach down and lift you up. To save you from your downfall,
His hand is long enough — powerful enough — to rescue. How merciful is our Father
in heaven!
4. “His
ears are not dull that they cannot hear,” says Isaiah 59:1. This speaks of our
prayers. He listens to our prayers, even those whispered silently in our
hearts.
Knowing this gives us great confidence. Yes, the Ruler of all the universe
hears us — how merciful He is toward us!
5.
“I am the God of all flesh; is anything too
hard for Me?” — Jeremiah 32:27
In the words, “I will blot out your
sins for My own sake,” we see the will of God.
In the question, “Is anything too hard for Me?” we see His power. How joyful it
is to know that God both desires and is able to save us!
However, readers should not wrongly
conclude from this message that “it doesn’t matter how many sins I’ve
committed.” No — only if you desire salvation, then He will save
you. If you have that desire, you can pray. And if you pray, He will save you.
But if you don’t desire it? Then He
will send teachings that stir your heart. He will cause your conscience to
speak. If, even after that, your heart does not desire Him, how can you be
saved? God will not forcibly save you against your will.
What is impossible for you is still
possible for Him. How merciful is our Creator!
6. “All day long I have held out My hands to a
stubborn people who walk in ways not good, following their own thoughts.” —
Isaiah 65:2
Whether
we go to Him or not, His hands are always stretched out toward us.
This reminds us of a father gathering his children close to himself.
God,
who came in the body as Jesus Christ and gave His life for us, once said,
“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” —
Matthew 11:28
7.
For those who serve God, there is a promise:
“I will give your land its rain in its
season — the early rain and the latter rain — and you shall gather in your
grain, your wine, and your oil. And I will provide grass in your fields for
your cattle, and you shall eat and be full.” — Deuteronomy 11:14–15
The verses shared so far speak to our
spiritual life. But this one speaks of our earthly life — of daily needs
and provision.
It
is only right that both we and our livestock should not suffer hardship or
famine.
If such troubles do come, they will not last forever, and their cause will be
removed.
Here
again we see how gracious and merciful our Eternal God is!
9.
“As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will remain before Me,” says
the Lord… — Isaiah 66:22
God will create new heavens and a new
earth that will remain forever. Sin, sickness, thorns, poisonous creatures,
wild beasts, enemies, and all the perils of this world will pass away.
He will graciously grant us a new world in place of the old.
Such news is worthy of every gospel,
every newspaper headline — How merciful is the Father who created us!
10.
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have drawn you with
loving-kindness.” — Jeremiah 31:3
This verse reveals a love that we can
experience both in this world and in the world to come. If we accept His
love here on earth, we will experience that same love forever in the world of
salvation — heaven.
Dear readers, never lose hope in
anything. May the blessings of God reach you always!
