Seven Doctrines of the Bible Mission

Seven Doctrines of the Bible Mission

1. Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Christian baptism is given by the ministers of the Word in the name of the Triune God — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). But the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is given by the Lord Jesus Himself, who pours out the Spirit upon the believers (Acts 1:5; Acts 2:33).

Even those who have already received water baptism must also receive this baptism (Acts 8:14–17). The promise is for all believers: “For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” (Acts 2:39).

Before they were baptized in water, some Gentiles received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and spoke with tongues (Acts 10:44–48). If we, like the apostles, earnestly pray, we too will receive.

O saved ones! To live a victorious life and to bear a powerful testimony for Christ, it is essential that you also be baptized in the Holy Spirit.

2. The Gift of Tongues

The gift of tongues is explained in detail in 1 Corinthians 14. Paul writes, “I wish you all spoke with tongues.” (1 Corinthians 14:5). And the Lord Himself promised: “These signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.” (Mark 16:17).

Even today, if God gives this gift, who can forbid it? The gift of tongues is both a sign and a means of spiritual edification for the believer (1 Corinthians 14:4).

3. The Gift of Visions and Dreams

Visions: As foretold in Joel 2:28, “Your young men shall see visions.” The God who gave visions to the prophets still grants visions today, enabling us to better understand the truth of His Word.

Dreams: The same Scripture says, “Your old men shall dream dreams.” (Joel 2:28). God continues to reveal His will through dreams even in these days.

4. Divine Healing

The Lord still heals diseases today through the prayer of faith:

·        “They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:18)

·        “I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26)

·        “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.” (Matthew 8:17)

·        “The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.” (James 5:15)

While medicine is not forbidden and should not be despised, true healing power comes from God through faith.

5. The Gift of Casting Out Demons

Among the gifts given to believers is the authority to cast out demons. This happens through the power of the name of Jesus.

“This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.” (Mark 9:29).

Even today, demons are driven out when believers act in faith, invoking the authority of Christ’s name.

6. The Nearness of the Lord’s Coming

The return of the Lord is near. The signs foretold by Scripture are being fulfilled before our eyes. One such sign is the return of the Jews to Jerusalem (Luke 21:24).

The Lord Himself said: “Of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” (Matthew 24:36).

We cannot set dates, but we can declare with certainty: the coming of the Lord is at hand. Therefore, we must live in readiness, holiness, and hope.

7. Waiting in the Presence of God

Above all, believers must wait daily in God’s presence. Before beginning our work each morning, we must spend at least one hour waiting upon Him. If the morning is not possible, another hour should be set aside during the day.

This time is not for Bible reading, singing, or general prayer — those belong elsewhere. This is an hour of silent waiting before the Lord.

Just as we wait before men until they answer our requests, how much more should we wait before God until He speaks!

When we wait in stillness with our minds fixed on Him, the rays of His glory will shine upon us. Darkness will vanish, sin and Satan will be overcome, and new strength will be given daily. Our hearts will remain pure.

The Bible declares:

·        “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

·        “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” (Isaiah 40:31)

·        “Whatever He says to you, do it.” (John 2:5)

This is the chief teaching and experience of the Bible Mission: to ask God in prayer, to wait until He speaks, to hear His voice, and to obey. The apostles too practiced this waiting (Acts 1:4; Acts 13:2).

The Bible Mission, as revealed to Father.M. Devadasu in 1938, is founded on these seven divine principles. They are not mere doctrines, but a living experience of faith — Baptism of the Holy Spirit, Gifts of the Spirit, Divine Healing, Deliverance, the Hope of His Coming, and above all, Waiting in the Presence of God.

Story of Hagar , Genesis 16:1-12; John 8:31-38, 57-59; Galatians 4:28-31 | sermon by Father.Mungamuri Devadasu

Hagar was Sarah’s maidservant. According to Sarah’s wishes, she bore a son for Abraham. However, this led to Sarah’s anger and resentment. Eventually, following Sarah’s command, Abraham sent Hagar and her son away with a skin of water and a small amount of food. She wandered aimlessly in the wilderness of Beersheba, lost and uncertain. Overcome with grief and despair, Hagar’s eyes were clouded with sorrow. Yet, having lived in Abraham’s household, she had developed an inner perception and the ability to listen. Likewise, her physical senses remained strong. The angel of the Lord appeared to her and said, "God has heard the cry of the child; do not be afraid." Hagar’s Condition: She was cast out from Abraham’s household. She was wandering alone. She had no water in the wilderness. Amid these hardships, she was on the verge of death. Hagar’s story teaches us that "God’s help comes to us in our greatest distress." She was in deep despair, lost and withou...

Those who have needs, and the One who fulfills them – the Lord.

Sermon : "Those who have needs, and the One who fulfills them – the Lord." Ezekiel 17:24; John 14:14; Romans 4:21 Beloved ones who have many needs—may you be filled with satisfaction and peace! The theme of today’s sermon is: "Those who have needs, and the One who fulfills them – the Lord." To illustrate this, I present two sides before you: the right side with one stack, and the left side with another. Before we begin the sermon, let me say this—there are 66 books in the Bible, but I will highlight only four of them: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Although written by four different people, all four books focus on one story—the life of Jesus Christ . It is not four different accounts, but one united message. Now, the truth I want to emphasize is this: every person in the world has some needs —things they have not yet received, experienced, or possessed. Among these needs: 1. The First Need: "I want to see God." This desire was not present in...
