Sermon . Pray to God
O
people of the land! In times of danger, you make many efforts to escape—seeking
solutions, building new tools, and running to every available help. But above
all these efforts have you tried divine prayer? Among all attempts, prayer
is the first and most essential response. Natural disasters and
difficulties—such as winds, rains, floods, famines, divisions, cold, heat, sea
voyages, land travel, wild animals, insects, lightning, earthquakes, plagues,
hardships, and droughts—bring harm and suffering. Who else but God can
rescue us from these? Therefore, do not pray to created things or elements of
nature, but pray to the Creator of heaven and earth, who alone has
authority over all creation.
Now
consider: which period is more dangerous? Is it the general time of suffering
that mankind faces due to the curse of sin on creation, where troubles
arise unexpectedly from the natural world? Or is it the personal seasons of
trouble that come because of one's own sinful actions and desires?
From birth, every human enters a world under the curse of sin, and on top of
that, people accumulate suffering through their personal sins driven by selfish
ambition.
So
then, which is the greater danger? In either case, if we pray with
persistence, God is able to remove both forms of danger. But the sin
that causes suffering must first be dealt with. Sin separates us from God
and keeps us far from salvation. This tragic state of separation can be changed
only through sincere prayer.
Therefore,
pray to God! Let everyone in every household kneel and pray before
God daily. Don’t waste time in questioning: “Will God hear the prayer of
sinners?” or “Why is God silent when He sees our suffering?” —
instead, leave those doubts behind and earnestly pray. This message may
be read or heard by many. To each one who receives it, may every blessing of
God come upon you!
This is the heartfelt plea of us
Christians:
“Abandon all other forms of worship and try worshipping the Lord Jesus
Christ. You will see your prayers answered.” May God richly bless you!
Worshipping
the Lord Jesus Christ brings countless blessings. First, it gives you a tender
and repentant heart—even for a small wrongdoing, you begin to feel deeply
convicted, saying, “Oh! What a mistake I have made!” Second, it leads to
the forgiveness of sins, and third, it gives the power to forsake
sinful habits. Fourth, it creates a spirit of godliness and moral
strength to live a disciplined life. Fifth, it establishes a stable and
fruitful prayer life. Sixth, one begins to grow in all virtues. Seventh, even in the midst of
trials and difficulties, the soul will have constant peace and inner rest.
Eighth, it gives a desire to continually learn divine truths and grow
spiritually. Ninth, there will be a genuine longing to share spiritual
matters with others, witnessing for Christ. Tenth, a powerful desire arises
in the heart that all people—regardless of religion, country, language,
tribe, friend or enemy, relative or stranger, rich or poor, righteous or
unrighteous, sick or healthy—should come to worship the Lord Jesus Christ.
And finally, as the eleventh blessing, eternal salvation is granted at
the end of this earthly life.
Are
these the only blessings? Absolutely not! Many earthly blessings also
follow. Sicknesses will be healed, health will be restored, and there will be
provision of food, clothing, and every necessity of human life. One must
truly believe that after praying to the Lord Jesus Christ, all things
will be fulfilled in due time. Christ the Lord is the one who brings every
prayer to completion. You may ask, “Why then are some Christian prayers
unanswered?” The reason may lie in a lack of faith or a fault in one’s
walk or lifestyle.
So
who is this Christ whom we are called to worship? He is none other than God
Himself—the Creator of the heavens, the earth, all humankind, and
everything that exists. He revealed Himself to mankind, lived among
them, and took on human form in order to complete the work of salvation
on behalf of all people. During His time on earth, He bore the name Jesus
Christ. He is not just the Savior of one group or person—He is the Savior
of all who believe in Him. To all who hear this message, may peace and
eternal blessing be yours. Amen.
