Near the town of Ramah was Shiloh , where Elkanah, a devout man, would travel with his family to worship and pray to God. His wife, Hannah , was deeply sorrowful because she had no children. Every family experiences some form of sorrow. Though Elkanah and Hannah shared a strong bond as husband and wife, grief still existed in their lives. However, this sorrow was allowed by God. Nothing happens without His will. Sometimes, He prevents hardships, and other times, He allows them—but always provides a way of deliverance. Even seasons of suffering can become times of great grace. Elkanah, being a godly man, comforted and supported his wife. Likewise, believers must support and uplift one another. Hannah’s Journey to Shiloh One day, Elkanah and his family travelled to Shiloh , bringing their offerings. True comfort is found in the presence of God.
